| On Monday, June 28, a fire broke out on Woodbine Street in Queens, NY. Firefighter Marius Muka of Engine 229 was working the day tour at the time when he learned that the building he and his elderly parents live in was taken by this fire. In addition to losing many of their valuables and possessions, Firefighter Muka and his parents have been displaced from their home due to the extensive damage caused by the fire. With a heatwave upon us, Firefighter Muka is now left with the burden of finding housing for himself and his parents, all while he continues to protect the life and property of his fellow New Yorkers.
