150TH ANNIVERSARY – LADDER COMPANY 104
On Friday, September 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM, the officers and members of Ladder Co. 104 will conduct a ceremony in quarters at 161 South 2nd Street, Brooklyn, NY, to commemorate their 150th Anniversary. All active, retired members and their families are invited to attend. Parking will be limited so please utilize mass transit options if available.
STEUBEN DAY PARADE
Permission is granted to off-duty members of the Department to participate in the annual Steuben Day Parade, scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2019. Members participating shall attend in dress uniform. Assembly time is 1100 hours at East 67th Street and Madison Avenue, Manhattan. The Post Parade Collation is to follow at the St. Ignatius Loyola School Cafeteria, located at 84th Street between Park and Madison Avenues. For further information, visit www.fdnysteuben.org.
FIREHOUSE KITCHEN TALK: EFFECTS OF 9/11 ON EXPOSED CHILDREN & FDNY COMMUNITY
Join Friends of Firefighters on Wednesday, September 25, from 6:00-9:00 PM at their Red Hook HQ (199 Van Brunt Street, Brooklyn) for a firefighter-prepared dinner followed by an informative presentation from Dr. Amsel, MD, on the effects of 9/11 on exposed children and the firefighter community in New York. Dr. Amsel is an FoF Board Member and Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University. Free for active and retired FDNY members. No RSVP necessary. A Toy Drive and Fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of the Hudson Valley and FDNY FF/USMC SSGT Chris Slutman Children’s Education Fund on October 12, 2019. Registration 9:30 – 10:45 AM, KSU 11:00 AM. Police Escorted Ride starts at Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley, 80 Woods Road, Valhalla, NY 10595. Ride ends at Hudson Valley Harley Davidson, 33 Route 304, Nanuet, NY 10954. Donations: $20 per rider with unwrapped gift. $40 per rider with no toy. $10 per passenger.
