Open Gates

Posted by Jim on June 20, 2019

Frankie Quinn with a poem from his book Open Gates

In the lull hangs a breeze,

Rhythmic sound of footballer bees

Resting on trembling leaves Under perennial, trees.

Hazily moving in humid shade

Gentle lovers, entwined, persuade

Each other’s passions within that glade

Open mouthed, reservations fade.

⏩  Frankie Quinn is a former republican prisoner who is now a community activist. He is the author of Open Gates, a book of poetry.
